What Rebate Can You Get?

The Federal Solar Battery Rebate offers up to $18,600 for a 50 kWh battery system, with systems up to 100 kWh subsidised for the first 50 kWh. Level Electrical & Solar ensures accurate rebates for your system.

Eligibility:

  • New battery systems installed after April 6, 2025, paired with new or existing solar PV.
  • Retroactive claims for systems installed April 6–June 30, 2025, if not operational until July 1, 2025.
  • Batteries must be NETCC / CEC-approved and VPP-capable (joining optional).
  • Off-grid systems are eligible.
  • Ineligible: Batteries installed before April 6, 2025.
  • Retroactive claims for April 6–June 30, 2025, if not grid-connected until July 1, 2025 (Certificate of Compliance issued post-July 1).

Note: Queensland’s Battery Booster program closed in May 2024, but the new 2025 federal rebate gives Gold Coast & Brisbane residents a fair go at savings. *One rebate per property, multiple properties eligible with solar. STC values are provisional and may adjust as program details are finalised.

Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs)

STCs reward you for installing a solar PV system or battery under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), slashing upfront costs. As part of the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, battery STCs (new for 2026, ~8.4 STCs/kWh in 2026) deliver the rebate by representing the renewable value of your battery’s usable capacity. The government purchases these STCs to fully fund the discount, providing roughly 25–30% off the upfront cost for 5–100 kWh systems, without passing costs to consumers. Typically, your installer (like our NETCC-accredited team) claims the STCs on your behalf and applies the instant savings directly, so you skip the admin hassle.
